Our Vision

This website serves the communities of  Lea Eara Farms and Summit Farms and provides residents with information about their community. Important maintenance corporation documents, community news, town information, and more will be posted. It is our hope that you will find this website useful and informative.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Corporation

 

Storm Water Management  - This function is for the maintenance prescribed by New Castle County for all storm water management areas. The maintenance is mandatory (pursuant to the Delaware Code) and allows the corporation to qualify for financial assistance to cover the cost of major repairs.  The last major project cost over $2 million dollars.  

 

Landscaping Common Areas - There are over 13 acres of common area between the two neighborhoods. Pursuant to New Castle County code grass and weeds much be cut and maintained. In addition, there are trees and shrubs that need maintenance each year.  These services help us maintain pride in our community.

 

Insurance & Administration Expenses - The corporation maintains a liability policy to protect our members against litigation should something happen in our common areas. Admin. expenses include Postage, P.O. Box, and Legal Fees associated with addressing past assesments due.  

 

Snow Removal -  Reimbursement is made by DelDot for amounts over four inches on a sliding scale. We budget for two instances of snow removal each year. In 2015 salt and sand for the enterances was added along with sand barrels.

 

Current Board

Charles Layton

 

Charles has lived in Summit Farms, with his girlfriend, Caren, and his two children (Nathan and Natalie) since 2010. He has owned two successful businesses and is currently the Project Manager of Technical Services Global responsible for selling, designing and implemention of multiple cloud base systems for customers.  He also has experience with contract management, budget management and sales.  He graduated from Wilmington University with a B.S. in Business Management and is currently attending Wilmington University to attain his M.S. in Information Technology.

Paul Myhre

 

Paul has lived in Summitt Farms with his wife, Abby and children since May of 2011. He is active in Cub Scouts with his son and enjoys spending time with his family. Paul is Director of Operations for Maritime Exchange for the Delaware River and Bay with experience in Contract Negotiation, Grant Management, Risk Mitigation Planning, and Project Management.  He has earned his B.S. in Information Resources Management, M.S. in Homeland Security and M.S. in Emergency Management.
